We often work with schools, colleges and community groups to create fantastical creatures and structures for carnivals, festivals and parades. Below are some examples from Walking the Fish, now known as Dancing with Dabs, an annual event we have been involved with for many years. It is now linked in with the popular Seafood and Wine Festival in Hastings.
Our crazy bikes have been an award winning feature of Hastings Carnival for the last 2 years. We work closely with Leigh Dyer from Incurva Studios
and Hastings Urban Bikes.
The project is a fun and creative way to highlight recycling (all the bikes were made from old broken or discarded bikes) and promoting the benefits of cycling.
Tallulah the Mermaid has become a firm favourite at the annual Hastings Jack in the Green Festival, she also makes an appearance at the Seafood and Wine Festival.
We work with schools and community groups to produce events that bring awareness of the environment, the local habitat and local resources. We collaborate with
theatre groups and arts groups to produce props, costumes and scenery.
We also design and build festival decoration for town centres, woodlands, the seashore and parks.
below are photos of how we work with schools and groups to produce the huge variety of creations that from time to time grace our town centres, parks, seashores, playgrounds, galleries and institutions. We are constantly amazed at the huge well of creativity that lies at the heart of our community and we always feel privileged to be able to create a space for it to come pouring out.
Many of our workshops are run for no other reason than it is great fun to make and fly a kite. Or to go for a walk, collect autumn leaves and turn them into a colourful pheasant. We often come across people who have never had the opportunity to get their hands dirty with clay or who never thought they were artistic until they spent an afternoon sticking pebbles and paint to a board and are amazed at the results!
Hire us to bring attention to your event, commission us to create an installation or a show, or collaborate with any of our artists to come up with innovative
ways to promote your products.
Below are images from the Mayor of London's Skyride, our crazy bikes and performers were hired to help promote the event and bring an element of fun.
Below are some examples of the sort of work volunteers do with us. We are always on the look out for people with unusual creative skills ranging from creating huge mechanical structures to stilt walking to admin (well admin is an unusual creative skill to us!). In return we can provide you with unusual avenues for you to experiment and expand your skills to gain invaluable experience to enhance your life or CV along with many heartfelt thanks!
